The LINEAR AV4000 Series of Multi-Channel Video Encoder with Multiplexer was designed to provide a cost effective means to enable a TV station to convert multiple video and audio feeds into a single digital ASI stream for ATSC broadcast. The AV4001 encoder can process one high definition (HD/SDI) channel with stereo audio or four standard definition channels (NTSC or Digital) with stereo audio or a combination of one HD and two standard definition channels (NTSC or Digital). The AV4004 provides four standard definition channels.
Both, the AV4001 and AV4004 encoders are easily configured via Ethernet using a standard web browser. The AV4001 and AV4004 have a static PSIP application that allows you to begin operation quickly. It also has a built-in video switch for other custom applications, e.g. the Emergency Alert System.
